LTC Lunch - Bring Learning to Life with 3D Models

Learning tends to happen best when we can interact with content at a physical level. Digital 3d models can be a viable alternative, making rare objects more accessible. Some of the objects at Carleton include animal skulls, archival materials, and other objects that are usually carefully locked away. How do students interact with these digital alternatives? What kinds of learning experiences become possible? Sarah Kennedy, Austin Mason, and Chris Saladin, together with Digital Humanities specialists Sarah Calhoun and Em Palencia, discuss the possibilities of using these items in teaching and what the process of creation is.
