Extreme heat waves continue to impact communities across the US and the world. As the world gets hotter, people, organizations, and governments are grappling with how to save lives and sustain lifestyles and livelihoods. As California’s Extreme Heat and Community Resilience Manager in the Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation, Braden is supporting California communities in developing heat relief responses and long-term resilience to extreme heat investments. Join Braden Kay ’05 in a conversation about the threats of extreme heat and solutions that communities are developing for this growing crisis. Braden Kay ’05, a proud American studies graduate of Carleton, holds a PhD in sustainability from Arizona State University. Braden has worked as a consultant, implementor, and educator in local government in Missouri, Indiana, Florida, and Arizona.
